The use of undgerground water tanks is on the rise.  Many new build homes are in ground water tanks as a space saving measure.  During the building process, the pit is dug for the in-ground water tank. The installation is a fairly easy process.  Many builders are now ‘hiding’ the tanks under the garage floor. Many units and duplex homes are using below surface tanks in the driveway to alleviate space in backyards.

Tanks that lie under the grounds surface are engineered with strength and reinforced walls.  The inward pressure of land fill and downward pressure of concrete etc, places pressure on the underground tank.  These tanks are manufactured with strength and longevity as the main purpose.

Often underground water tanks are accompanied with a submersible water pump.  Again, this is a space saving and noise saving technique.  The submersible pump has the strength and pressure sufficient to pump water from the garage/basement to and upstairs toilet or laundry room.  This combination of tank and pump is very economical and environmentally sensible.

Underground water tanks come in a range of sizes.  The most popular being the 2000, 3000 and 5000 litre tanks.  These tanks can be delivered to site on a normal truck and trailer.  Larger underground water tanks require heavy lifting equipment to move into place.
